Internationally recognised (through awards such as Global 100 of sustainable companies), Ricoh’s commitment to the “whole journey” is well known.  

Ricoh have recently appointed eRECO to deliver recycling schemes for print consumables and device removal (in accordance with the WEEE Directive).

The recycling scheme is coupled with a “track and trace” service providing duty of care waste transfer notes which can be used in environmental audits.  This scheme also has the advantage of taking items from any manufacturer.

The companies selected for the Global 100 were judged to be the global corporations with the most effective management approach to environmental, stakeholder capital, human resources and governance issues. Achievement in these four areas has been evaluated as a key indicator of management quality and long-term financial performance.

One of the overwhelming factors in Ricoh’s favor was the company’s “Year 2050 Extra-Long-Term Environmental Vision,” and how its current management strategies all support this initiative. Ricoh’s strong performance in the other three key indicators also contributed to its inclusion in this year’s list.

Ricoh managed to keep its place in the list five years in a row in spite of the fact that one third of the selected companies have changed since the 2008 list.
